Crisis Communications Management

Crisis Communications Management is an integral part of BCP and it requires separate attention. This is the process of advance planning for how you would communicate in a crisis It requires proper understanding, proper organisation and proper management of the communications processes between you and your critical audiences, internal and external.   In our experience, it is the successful formulation of a communications strategy, which is at the heart of any recovery process. Any Business Continuity Plan is only complete when it has a Crisis Communications Plan at its core.

Crisis Management

Managing communications within the organisation during a crisis is vitally important and often underestimated.  We believe that it is important for all members of your emergency management team to understand the processes involved, not just the designated spokesperson(s). Relying purely on outside help for media relations advice during a crisis is risky. Far better that you have strategic media relations skills within your team, so that you can brief your spokesperson(s) as well as your outside advisers. We can train you in this regard, effectively and economically.  If training in front of television cameras is indicated, we do this in the TV studios at the University of Surrey in Guildford.

BCP Audit and Maintenance

Times change, people change and your business changes. Business processes, staff and IT resources are constantly in a state of flux. The recovery resources that you plan today could be superseded over months or years.  How do you keep your Business Continuity Plan up to date?  Our Plan Manager™ programme combines maintenance with training, exercising and testing to help you identify changes and ensure that your recovery requirements keep pace with recovery needs.
